Colleen and Danny arrived safely at Honolulu last night, and early this morning went to see the USS Arizona Memorial and Pearl Harbor Memorial. It was sobering to reflect on the thousands of lives that were lost that day and the courage of the men and women that have served our country. We are truly blessed to live in America. (Don't make fun of my hair, it was windy).
Here is the USS Arizona underwater. We could see the oil sheen that has been continuously leaking from that ship since that day, about 60 years ago.
Next, we went to Waikiki Beach, just a short walk from our hotel.
Ended the day with a beautiful Hawaiian sunset, with entertainment on the beach from local musicians and hula dancers.
Aloha, and goodnight until tomorrow.
